Constant Contact email verification options using mailfloss

If you’re using mailfloss for Constant Contact email verification, you have four options at your disposal.

Before explaining the four options, make sure you have properly connected Constant Contact to mailfloss. You only need to do this once and from then on mailfloss will be able to automatically perform email verifications for the connected Constant Contact account.

Here’s a screenshot of the four options you have with Constant Contact email validation:

The first option “Manually decide action on bad emails” will display emails deemed invalid so you can decide an action on them, like so:

With manual mode set, you can later decide to delete, unsubscribe, ignore, or report the status as incorrect for all contacts mailfloss determined as invalid.

The second option “Unsubscribe bad emails” will unsubscribe the contact from Constant Contact. This action is irreversible. You’ll see the contact in Constant Contact in the “Unsubscribed” list.

The third option “Delete bad emails” is also irreversible. Once deleted, the contact is gone for good and you won’t find it inside of Constant Contact anymore.

The final option is “do nothing”. Basically, all this option does is send you an email report of the latest floss session, but doesn’t actually change anything inside of Constant Contact or mailfloss. This is most like boring, traditional email validation services, but is useful if you just want a report of the email verification statuses determined by mailfloss for the connected Constant Contact account and nothing more.

Campaign Monitor email verification options using mailfloss

If you’re using mailfloss for Campaign Monitor email verification, you have four options at your disposal.

Before explaining the four options, make sure you have properly connected Campaign Monitor to mailfloss. You only need to do this once and from then on mailfloss will be able to automatically perform email verifications for the connected Campaign Monitor account.

HubSpot email verification options using mailfloss

If you’re using mailfloss for HubSpot email verification, you have five options at your disposal.

Before explaining the five options, make sure you have properly connected HubSpot to mailfloss. You only need to do this once and from then on mailfloss will be able to automatically perform email verifications for the connected HubSpot account.

The second option “Unsubscribe bad emails” will unsubscribe the contact from HubSpot. This action is irreversible. You’ll see the contact in HubSpot as “opted out of email”.

The fourth option is a little more advanced and intended for advanced users. It will update custom fields inside of HubSpot, which you can use to sync with your other databases and CRMs.

Updating custom fields for HubSpot email verification is here!

Our two biggest feature requests for HubSpot are live.
First up is the ability for mailfloss to update custom fields for invalid contacts.
You’ll see this as one of the options in manual mode here:

Or, if manual mode is turned off, it will be one of the available options, seen here:

If you choose this option, what will happen is, every email mailfloss deems invalid will be updated with custom fields. You’ll see them in the HubSpot contact under property settings. They look like the following:

The four properties are:
1.
            name: “mf_validation_passed”,
            label: “mailfloss validation passed”,
            description: “False, if the email failed mailfloss validation.”
2.
            name: “mf_reason”,
            label: “mailfloss reason”,
            description: “The reason mailfloss failed this email.”
3.
            name: “mf_mode”,
            label: “mailfloss mode”,
            description: “Safe, Aggressive, or Custom floss mode.”
4.
            name: “mf_flossed_on”,
            label: “mailfloss flossed_on”,
            description: “The date mailfloss validated this email.”
Now you can use this data to sync HubSpot with your other CRM systems by looking up the contact and looking for the mf_validation_passed property. Any marked false by mailfloss you can now update in your other CRMs. Note that mailfloss only updates a contact with custom fields if the contact failed mailfloss validation.
Next up, autofloss for individual lists is live as well. With it, you can now turn on/off whatever lists you want autoflossed. You can see it here:
